Activity sessions for children and young people with disabilities and/or additional needs.
The Short Breaks Service offer activities through a variety of providers and at a variety of locations, a choice of activities to attend as a family or as respite.
These activities can include sports and other physical pursuits, days out and visits, quiet chilled out sessions, and offer a chance to make friends and feel included. Activities will be offered during the half term holidays, at weekends and evenings wherever possible. Activities and programmes will be advertised through as many avenues as possible and by direct contact to those families who wish to receive information.
The service is available to children and young people, aged 3-18 years, who reside within the Borough of Milton Keynes and who have disabilities and/or additional needs. Those eligible to apply are children and young people with a statement of educational need, those who attend a special educational setting or receive at least 20 hours support in mainstream education, those who attend an alternative education unit arising from a disability or long term complex medical need or children and young people with complex additional needs.
