Parent/Carer support drop-in
Second Monday of each month 9.30am until 12.30pm
Need help with the special educational needs processes relating to education, health and social care? Come along and talk to a SENDIAS caseworker
The Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice Service (SENDIAS) will be at the Children Development Centre (CDC) providing a drop-in facility to support parents and carers of children and young people who are attending the CDC for speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy appointments. Dates until January 2018 are:
9 October, 13 November, 11 December, 8 January
A SENDIAS caseworker will be available to answer questions about the processes involved with SEND, education, health and social care. They will be able to explore the support your child is entitled to, explain statutory rights of children, young people and parents and help you navigate the processes that may be ahead of you. See the SENDIAS leaflet for the support this service offers.
The drop-in is a free service, simply call the advice line on 01908 254518 to book a slot or ask the member of the CDC team you have an appointment with and they will direct you to the SENDIAS caseworker (depending on demand there may be a short wait if you haven’t booked a time slot).
