Age UK Milton Keynes - Walking Befriending

This free service is for older people living in Milton Keynes who have experienced a significant life event, such as bereavement or illness, which has put them at risk of isolation and/or loneliness.

The Walking Befrienders service provides volunteer befrienders to accompany an older person on a short walk near their home.  By giving encouragement and friendly support, the walking befriender can help people overcome barriers which might be preventing them from being active in later life.

updated 4/1/21

This service can continue during the tier 4 period, where our clients and volunteers are happy to meet up for a socially distanced walk outdoors, and they both feel it is safe for them to do so.  Please get in touch with us if you are interested in this service.
