Victory in Europe Day – 75th Anniversary
VEDay75 in May 2020 is a three-day national and international event that is set to be one of the biggest commemorations of the end of World War 2 in Europe. Tens of thousands of people will be taking part from 8 to 10 May 2020 in a whole range of inclusive events:
8 May 2020 (Bank Holiday)
12 noon onwards: Parties and celebrations in pubs, clubs, hotels, town and village halls, on village greens and lots of other locations.
3pm: Pipers playing Battle’s O’er and the specially composed tune VE 75 Years, and The Nation’s Toast to the Heroes of World War 2.
7pm: The Cry for Peace Around the World and Ringing out for Peace.
9 and 10 May 2020
10.30am: Service of celebration and commemoration, the reading of the Tribute to the Millions and the playing of the Last Post.
