Charges for Alarms and Telecare

Two types of fees:

  1. Installation - this includes someone coming to your home to fit the equipment and to check that it works correctly.
  2. A weekly charge -  this includes rental, 24-hour monitoring, Mobile Warden Response (when your contacts are not available), on-site maintenance and an annual visit where we check the equipment to make sure that it is working correctly and update your contact details. VAT exemption on weekly charges is available for those who are disabled or have a long-term illness.

You can Pay for your Alarm and Telecare equipment online:

  • you will need your reference number which you can find on your invoice and your credit or debit payment card.
  • ensure you are on the standard invoice page and enter your reference number and payment amount in the correct boxes. 

You can also pay by monthly or quarterly direct debit or quarterly via invoice.  

Charges applicable from 1 August 2017

Installation One off charge £10  No VAT applicable

Weekly charges for people on one of the following means tested benefits  (Proof of current benefits will be required).

The equipment that we provide remains the property of Milton Keynes Council. In the event of the equipment being damaged or lost, charges will be raised to assist in the cost of its replacement.  If you no longer require our service all equipment must be returned to us, you can either bring the equipment back to us, or we can arrange to come and collect the equipment from you.
