The programme has gained an Employment Adviser seconded from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). The adviser has a background in out of work benefits and can provide a direct advisory role to families using their expertise of the local labour market, skills provision and employability support and in work benefits.
The adviser will adopt a co-ordinated local approach to working with each Supporting Family where they can support and work with other agencies, contributing (as appropriate) to family assessments and family plans in order to agree common employment and employability goal for family members.
