How do we provide this service?
Our services can be split into two types: Proactive and Reactive.
This is achieved by carrying out a detailed risk analysis of all the Councils systems which are then maintained in a 4 year strategic plan that is updated annually. The key risk areas are then identified for the following year and go to form the Annual Audit Plan for the year.
Internal Audit deal with fraud and referrals under the Council's confidential reporting / whistle blowing policy / management / councillor requests for the examination of specific issues and provide advise, consultancy and training with regard to Corporate Governance, security and risk management. Internal Audit Services also carry out Value for Money studies of appropriate Council services.
