MK Futures 2050
The MK Futures 2050 Commission was set up in September 2015 as a way of thinking about the future of the city, helping to create a long-term vision for the way MK should grow and prosper over the coming decades.
The Commission published their report in July 2016, recommending Six Big Projects:
- Growth & Strategy
- MKU: A new University for Milton Keynes
- Learning 2050
- Smart, Shared and Sustainable Mobility
- Renaissance: CMK
- Creative and Cultured City
Since then, MK Futures have been working on a draft strategy for 2050 which was published for public engagement in January 2020. The engagement included a series of public meetings attended by hundreds of people across the area.
Unfortunately, not all of the meetings were able to take place given the ongoing Coronavirus situation, which will undoubtedly present challenges to the Strategy. MK Futures has published some thoughts and questions that may need to be considered in response to these challenges and how the Strategy will reflect these.
