Coronavirus: changes to council services
We're continuing to help local people every day, but some council facilities are temporarily closed, including our Civic offices. We’re asking you to call or email us instead of dropping in. We’re following official guidance and will reopen as soon as it’s right to do so.

Bereavement Services |
New guidance for managing a funeral service during the coronavirus pandemic and MKC policy regarding attendance at funerals. Here is the latest information (PDF, 143KB) which includes the number of seats/mourners currently allowed. |
Birth Registration |
Please visit Birth Registration to check how to make a booking. We are still open for registration. Baby must be registered within 42 days/six weeks where possible. We have written to parents who were impacted by closures and still need to come forward and register. |

Citizenship |
Small citizenship events are being organised as certificates are received from the Home Office. Please read your letter from the Home Office carefully before contacting us. If we do not have your certificate we cannot make you an appointment and contacting us will sadly not speed up the process. |

Copy birth, marriage and civil partnership certificates |
Copy certificates will be available from 1 June 2020 to order online. |

Children and Family Centres |
Children’s centres are temporarily closed. In an emergency you can call our four larger family centres (Daisy Chain, West Bletchley 01908 641454. Hedgerows, Netherfield 01908 239000. Moorlands, Beanhill 01908 679819. The Rowans, Fullers Slade 01908 565852). |
Death Registration |
New legislation has been passed to allow us to register deaths by phone. We are no longer seeing relatives face to face, however a telephone appointment with a Registrar is needed. More information can be found on death registration. |
Food and Garden waste collections | We've suspended food and garden waste collections from Thursday 14 January 2021 until further notice. In the meantime, please dispose of food waste into black bags and keep any green waste in your garden. |
Highways |
We're prioritising essential and emergency roadworks (e.g. pothole repair). Existing major infrastructure projects will be completed but the pipeline of new projects is under review. |

Marriage, Civil Partnerships and legal preliminaries |
All marriages and civil partnerships are on hold from 20 December 2020. We are open to new bookings up to 2 years ahead. Notice appointments can still be delivered and are available for those who live in Milton Keynes and have a wedding booked in the next 3-4 months.
