Parish Notices of Vacancy

Vacancies that occur in Parishes during the four-year term of office have to be advertised within the Parish for fourteen working days.  Below is a list of the current Notices that Milton Keynes Council have been made aware of.  Ten electors of the Parish may request to fill the vacancy by election if they make the request in writing to the Returning Officer: Sharon Bridglalsingh, Civic Offices, 1 Saxon Gate East, Milton Keynes, MK9 3EJ, before the expiry of the fourteen days as indicated.

Casual Vacancy for Tattenhoe Ward

Councillor Gerald Small has resigned as Borough Councillor for Tattenhoe, ward for personal reasons.

Councillor Small’s office was due to expire in May 2020 and therefore in accordance with Section 6 of The Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner (Coronavirus) (Postponement of Elections and Referendums) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020, the election shall not take place until Thursday 6 May 2021.

Stantonbury Neighbourhood Plan Referendum

The referendum relating to the adoption of the Stantonbury Neighbourhood Plan has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.  

The Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner (Coronavirus) (Postponement of Elections and Referendums) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020 defer referendums due to be held between 7 May 2020 and 5 May 2021. The Act and Regulations provide that any neighbourhood plan referendums arising in the above period are deferred until Thursday 6 May 2021.  However, the Secretary of State does have the power to lay further regulations allowing for an earlier commencement.
