General Election 12 December 2019
There will be an election for the members of parliament for Milton Keynes South and Milton Keynes North on 12 December 2019. British, Irish and Commonwealth citizens who are 18 years old by polling day and on the electoral register in Milton Keynes will be eligible to vote.

The deadline to register to vote for this election is midnight on Tuesday 26 November. If you have already registered to vote, you will be sent a poll card from 14 November. If you register between 6 November and 26 November you will be sent a polling card by early December. If you are unsure if you are registered to vote you can call Milton Keynes Council on 01908 254706 to check.
Registering to vote is simple and takes less than 5 minutes. You’ll need your national insurance number. Apply to register online at: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
Polling stations will be open from 7am – 10pm. If you cannot vote in person on 12 December you can apply to vote by post, or appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf at your allocated polling station. Please bear in mind that postal votes cannot be printed until after candidates are confirmed and ballot papers printed. This means that it is not always possible for postal votes to reach overseas voters in time for them to be returned by 12 December, especially for those who have not already set up a postal vote.
The final deadline to apply for a postal vote is Tuesday 26 November. For those that have successfully applied before 7 November early postal votes will be sent from 25 November (19 November for overseas addresses). Final postal votes (for those applying between 8 November – 26 November) will be sent from 2 December. Details of how to apply are available here.
The final deadline to apply to appoint a proxy is Wednesday 4 December. The person you appoint as a proxy will need to go to your allocated polling station to vote, or apply for a postal vote before 26 November. Details of how to apply to appoint a proxy are available here.
