Local policy and practice guide

Milton Keynes City Council has a local policy and practice guide for how it will implement Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and ensure a duty of care for people who are, or may become, deprived of their liberty. These are available on request from the DoLS Team.

There are nationally agreed forms which MUST be used when requesting DoLS authorisations.

• Urgent authorisation by a managing authority.
• Standard authorisation,
• Suspension / lifting of suspension (standard authorisation)
• Review of a standard authorisation

All DoLS forms must be submitted through the Milton Keynes City Council adults portal. Email submission of the forms will only be accepted if you are unable to submit the forms via the portal.
