There are several different options for memorialisation at Crownhill Crematorium and Cemetery. Please contact us to discuss or arrange any of the following memorials.

Book of Remembrance

The Book of Remembrance is enclosed in a glass cabinet in the Chapel of Remembrance in the gardens of the Crematorium. An inscription in the book can be two, five or eight lines long with the first line being the name of the deceased.  You can choose to make the entry under any significant date such as date of birth or wedding anniversary and the pages are turned daily so that inscriptions are displayed once a year. Inscriptions can also be viewed by appointment.

Each entry is handwritten in traditional calligraphy and can be accompanied by a hand-painted motif.  Copies of the inscription can be supplied in the form of a Memorial Card or a Miniature Book of Remembrance.

An entry in the Book of Remembrance is a permanent form of memorialisation with no renewal fees.

Memorial wall plaque

Wall mounted tributes manufactured from bronze coloured anodised aluminium are available. Each plaque may consist of a maximum of 70 characters on four lines. Plaques are displayed inside the Book of Remembrance room for a period of five years. The plaque will then be removed, or a further five year display period can be purchased.

Memorial kerb plaque

Memorial kerb plaques, fixed to sandstone kerbing with an integral flower vase, are available in a choice of colour:

  • Dakota Red (a brown-ish red)
  • Blue Pearl
  • Perlino Verdi (Green)

Wording on each plaque is engraved in a gold finish, with a maximum of 100 letters per plaque. A choice of decorative motifs are also available, or you may wish to select a photograph for mounting on your tribute. Plaques are displayed for a period of five years and then removed, or a further five year display period can be purchased.

Memorial rose bush and plaque

An alternative way of remembering a loved one is to dedicate an existing, flowering rose in their memory in our rose garden. A bronze plaque (6” x 4”) inscribed with a maximum of 65 characters is displayed next to the rose. Plaques are displayed for a period of five years and then removed, or a further five year display period can be purchased.

Please note that the roses have already been planted and it is not possible to have a new rose planted in a specific location.

Memorial seat

A bronze plaque (9" x 2½") inscribed with a maximum of 60 characters can be attached to a memorial seat (bench) for a period of ten years. A further ten year display period can be purchased.

Unfortunately, for health and safety reasons, we are unable to allow members of the public to supply their own memorial seat.
