Press attendance at Milton Keynes Coroner’s Court

Press attendance at Milton Keynes Coroner’s Court

All Coroner’s Inquests are held in open court, meaning they are open to the public and press for attendance.

Please feel free to email coroners.office@milton-keynes.gov.uk and let us know that you will be in attendance of an upcoming hearing as a member of the press.

All Coroner’s Inquests are held in open court, meaning they are open to the public and press for attendance.  A list of our upcoming inquests can be found on the Milton Keynes Council website under Coroner’s Office Documents.

Members of the press will have access to the court room from five minutes before the start time of the inquest. It is reminded that the taking of photos, videos and/or recordings in court are forbidden, and you will be in contempt of court if found to be doing so.

Members of the press will be escorted through to the court room and shown where to sit by one of our court volunteers.  It is extremely unlikely that the Senior Coroner will allow for press attendance online as priority access is given to properly interested persons and witnesses.

If you are a member of the press and wish to attend court, it is requested that you do so in person now Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted.

Please email coroners.office@milton-keynes.gov.uk and let us know that you will be in attendance of an upcoming hearing as a member of the press.
