Milton Keynes Youth Justice Service (YJS) works with children and young people aged 10 to 18 who have come into contact with the criminal justice system or may be at risk of offending. Our aim is to help young people make positive choices, reduce offending behaviour, and achieve better outcomes for themselves, their families, and the wider community.
We take a child-first approach, recognising the strengths, potential, and individual circumstances of every young person. By working closely with children, parents, carers, and partner agencies, we provide tailored support that promotes personal development, wellbeing, education, and future opportunities.
Our multi-agency team brings together professionals from youth justice, social care, education, health, police, and other specialist services. This enables us to deliver coordinated interventions that address the factors contributing to offending behaviour, including emotional wellbeing, family relationships, substance misuse, school attendance, and employment aspirations.
We also support victims of youth crime through restorative approaches, helping young people understand the impact of their actions, take responsibility, and where appropriate, repair harm caused to others.
Milton Keynes YJS is committed to safeguarding children, reducing risk, and helping young people build resilience and confidence. Through partnership working and early intervention, we support children to overcome challenges, realise their potential, and become safe, positive, and active members of their communities.
