Cowper and Newton Museum

The Cowper and Newton Museum was the home of the eighteenth century poet and letter writer, William Cowper. There is a room dedicated to Rev John Newton, then the Curate of Olney who wrote "Amazing Grace" and was involved in the anti-slavery movement. There is a Costume Gallery, a collection of Bucks and Beds pillow lace, herb and flower gardens restored to 18th planting, Cowper's Summerhouse. Registered Museum 1165.
