Consultation
Milton Keynes City Council is reviewing how people travel around the city and is seeking views on two key areas: car clubs and charge hubs.
Car clubs offer an efficient way for people to share vehicles, giving members convenient access to pay‑as‑you‑drive cars. These vehicles are parked in dedicated, clearly marked bays close to homes and workplaces, and can be booked on an hourly or daily basis, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Members can reserve cars via websites, mobile apps or over the phone, using this flexibility to plan journeys that combine car use with public transport, cycling and walking.
Alongside this, charge hubs will provide quick, on demand charging for electric vehicles using rapid and ultra‑rapid chargers, capable of topping up a car battery in as little as 10 to 40 minutes. These hubs will be located in convenient places such as local shops, leisure centres, and car parks near cafés and convenience stores, giving drivers somewhere to shop, relax or grab a drink while their vehicle charges.
We would like to hear your views on both car clubs and Charge Hubs to help shape future sustainable travel options in Milton Keynes. Your feedback will help ensure that shared mobility and EV charging work effectively for residents, visitors and businesses.
