Consultation

The effect of the above proposed Order will be to reduce the speed restriction from national to 40mph along the following length of the V4 Watling Street in Milton Keynes:

  • V4 Watling Street, Milton Keynes (both sides) From a point 150 metres south-east of its junction with Elfield Park Roundabout to a point 10 metres south-east of its junction with Granby Roundabout (a distance of 1,043 metres).

The proposed 40mph speed restriction comes as a result of a larger road safety scheme being implemented by Milton Keynes City Council. This scheme will have a new signalised junction and improvements to the current pedestrian/cyclist facilities on this stretch of the Watling Street (V4).

As the Highway Authority for that part of Watling Street (V4), Milton Keynes City Council is satisfied that the introduction of the above proposed speed restriction will encourage the convenient and safe movement of vehicular traffic.
