Milton Keynes City Council intends to make the following named traffic regulation Order under Sections 84(1), (2), (3) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (B526, MILTON KEYNES) (40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026

The Council is proposing to reduce the speed limit along part of B526 from the 60mph national limit to 40mph as part of a road safety scheme. The affected length of road is within Milton Keynes and extends into West Northamptonshire.

The Council is working in collaboration with West Northamptonshire Council who will be proposing the 40mph along B526 within their boundary at the same time through a separate notice of proposal.

Statement of Reasons

The Council is now carrying out statutory consultation on the proposed Order. Any comments or objections to the above proposal, together with the grounds upon which they are made, must be made in writing and sent to the Council’s Traffic Regulation Order Team at Milton Keynes Council, Civic Offices, 1 Saxon Gate East, Central Milton Keynes MK9 3EJ, or by email to TROteam@milton-keynes.gov.uk quoting reference TRO-476.

The closing date for this consultation is 11 June 2026.
