Consultation

The effect of the above proposed Order will be to introduce a 50mph speed limit restriction along the following lengths of road:

Brickhill Street, Milton Keynes

From its junction with Kelly’s Kitchen Roundabout, for a distance of 467 meters in a north-easterly direction.

The proposed 50mph speed limit restriction comes as a result of the section 278 works agreement for the new South Caldecotte development, which includes a new roundabout on Brickhill Street.

The current speed limit on Brickhill Street is national (60mph).

As the Highway Authority for that part of Brickhill Street, Milton Keynes City Council is satisfied that the introduction of the above proposed speed restriction will encourage the convenient and safe movement of vehicular traffic.

All signs and road markings will be in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

The Council will continue to monitor the way in which highway facilities are used and address any issues that come to its notice and following meaningful consultation with all stakeholders do what it considers necessary to facilitate the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

The Council is now carrying out statutory consultation on the above proposal.

Copies of the following consultation documents are available for inspection below:

Any objections to the above proposals, together with the grounds upon which they are made, must be made in writing and sent to the Council’s Traffic Regulation Order Team by email to TROteam@milton-keynes.gov.uk quoting reference TRO-342.

The closing date for this consultation is 6 October 2022.
