Milton Keynes Council is formally consulting on the following two proposed traffic regulation Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

1)    The Council of the Borough of Milton Keynes (The Council of the Borough of Milton Keynes) (Various Roads, Caldecotte) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2017) Variation Order 2021
2)    The Council of the Borough of Milton Keynes (Caldecotte, Milton Keynes) (Residents Permit Parking Area) Order 2021

The general effect of the above Orders will be as follows:

  • To extend the current residents permit parking area on Monellan Grove to its junction with Caldecotte Lake Drive;
  • To extend the double yellow lines (prohibition of waiting at any time) along the entire length of Caldecotte Lake Drive and part of Monellan Grove in Caldecotte.

It has been decided to replace the original residents permit parking area traffic regulation Order of 2019 with a completely new order and revoke the previous Order. In addition to the above proposals the Council intends to make the improvements on Caldecotte Lake Drive and Monellan Grove:

  • introduce a new bus service with a designated bus stop;
  • construct a new footway link on Caldecotte Lake Drive for new bus stop;
  • construct the existing pedestrian dropped kerb crossing points to approved standards with tactile paving;
  • repair the damaged grass verges and protect with new post and rail fencing

The proposed changes come as a result of the continuous improvements being made to the parking arrangements in Caldecotte.

The Council considers it expedient to make the above Orders to facilitate the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of vehicular traffic along the affected lengths of roads.

All signs on site will be in accordance with the current and any future version of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions.

The Council will continue to monitor the way in which highway facilities are used and address any issues that come to its notice and following meaningful consultation with all stakeholders do what it considers necessary to facilitate the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

The proposed changes come as a result of the continuous improvements being made to public transport in The Borough of Milton Keynes and will ensure equality for all users, encourage modal shift to more sustainable modes of transport, maintain economic vitality and reduce carbon emissions, all in line with the aims and objectives of The Borough of Milton Keynes Transport Strategy.

Any objections to the above proposals, together with the grounds upon which they are made, must be made in writing and sent to the Council’s Traffic Regulation Order Team by email to:
