Who needs to apply?
Any business or premises wishing to offer their venue for civil marriage or civil partnership within Milton Keynes needs to apply for a licence which lasts for three years.

Can my application be turned down?
Yes, local authorities have the power to refuse the licensing of premises. The premises must satisfy the local authority of its suitability and fire precautions, health and safety provisions and planning consents.
A licence must be granted and approved by us before you can have any ceremonies performed at your venue.
Should I expect an acknowledgement?
We aim to acknowledge your application within two weeks of receipt and aim to complete the administration surrounding a new licence application within eight weeks.
How do I make changes to my existing licence or renew it?
You can notify us of a change to your licensed venue or responsible person in writing either by post to:

Your licence can be renewed up to six months prior to its expiry date by visiting GOV.UK Approval of premises for civil marriage and civil partnership (England and Wales). A Register Office Fees is payable.
