Drug and alcohol support services for adults

We offer a wide range of support, whether your aim is to stop drinking or using drugs altogether, or just to cut down.

Addiction Recovery Community (ARC) Milton Keynes 

ARC Milton Keynes is for adults living in, or who have a GP in, Milton Keynes who are at any stage of difficulties with drug, alcohol or gambling addictions. The service includes:

  • physical health checks, advice and information on reducing harm
  • access to specialist detoxification and rehabilitation programmes
  • specialist psychological interventions and groups
  • pharmacological treatments to manage withdrawal cravings etc.
  • needle exchange
  • access to the Problem Gambling Clinic

Support, Advice, Mentoring and Advocacy Service (SAMAS)

SAMAS is run by Community Led Initiatives and works to support long term recovery for individuals through its support, advice, mentoring and advocacy service. The service helps individuals to identify their strengths and creates a mentorship cycle which allows the people who benefit from the service to lead in its development and day to day running.

Drug and Alcohol Family Support (DAFS)

DAFS are a not-for-profit voluntary service that offers peer-led support for families and friends with substance misuse.

  • fortnightly face to face meetings in several venues in Milton Keynes on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evening (7:30-9pm)
  • secure closed Facebook page 
  • fortnightly face to face meeting in Bedford on a Wednesday (7:30-9pm)
  • face to face monthly meeting in Leighton Buzzard starting in September (7:30-9pm)
  • monthly online Zoom group session for those who are unable to attend meetings due to transport difficulties or shift pattern (7:30pm to 9pm)
