Home Office ‘cost of crime’ estimates calculate that the second highest cost to the economy from Domestic Abuse (DA) is through lost output relating to time taken off work and reduced productivity afterwards.
The Public Health Workplace Team have collaborated with Domestic Abuse charity, MK ACT to deliver a package of DA training sessions to support workplaces and their employees across Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes.
The training is a 3.5-hour interactive course in groups of 8 -12 people which:
- Raises awareness of domestic abuse and how workplaces can provide a safe environment for victims
- Supports employers and employees, to identify victims’ needs and how to support them
- Provides knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse.
