Help us to improve road safety outside the school gates by taking part in our Park Smart Banner competition.
We've teamed up with MKFM to invite all primary school children across MK to put their creativity to good use by designing a bright, eye‑catching banner that encourages drivers to park safely and considerately during the school run.
This is a fantastic opportunity for children to get involved to share an important message with their community—while having fun and potentially winning some great prizes!
Parking near school gates can often become busy and unsafe. By creating bold, clear designs, children can help remind drivers to slow down, park responsibly, and keep everyone safer.
Children are asked to create a banner design using the downloadable template that:
- Is bright, bold, and easy to read
- Includes a clear message about safe and considerate parking
- Uses simple words, drawings, or illustrations
- Is suitable for display outside a primary school
- Can be created using any art materials (crayons, paint, collage, felt tips, and more!)
The winner will receive a brand new bike plus their winning design will be turned into a professional banner available free to all schools in Milton Keynes—a lasting legacy for the student and a real contribution to road safety. The winner's school will also be offered a prize of either 'Don't Park Here' child bollards or secure bike parking.
Two runners-up will each receive a £50 high street shopping voucher
