Help end rough sleeping the right way

Supporting rough sleepers

We work all year round to support vulnerable people who are rough sleeping to help them secure a life off the streets for good. While not everyone is ready to take the first step straight away, we don’t give up on anyone.

While begging is often seen as linked to rough sleeping, it’s not always the case. No one needs money to get into our shelter, which offers a safe space, facilities and ongoing support.

How you can help

By giving money to people you see on the street, you may be doing more harm to that individual than good. Instead, you can donate through charities such as Shelter or the tap to donate points in Central Milton Keynes. There are eight points across the city centre with funds going to MK Community Foundation specifically to support rough sleepers.

If you come across anyone sleeping rough, you can alert us via Street Link. This allows colleagues to visit the individual to offer accommodation and connect them to vital services.

We’ve invested in facilities and a brilliant team who offer long term support and this is really having a positive impact for those individuals we’re helping off the streets.
