Expenses

Residents can claim travel and other expenses from Milton Keynes City Council if they are attending meetings that involve the housing service. More information is available in our expenses protocol.

This group brings together My Repairs, My Neighbourhood, and Building Trust. It meets every 6 to 8 weeks for about 2 hours to share ideas and agree on plans from all three groups.

The role of the My Repairs group is to work alongside Milton Keynes City Council Asset Management team to make improvements for all residents, who receive repairs.   

Time: minimum of 2 hours, a month  

Frequency: monthly   

This group is looking at how to build the community. The are planning a community event to bring everyone together, with refreshments, crafts and officers attending to provide information and support.   

Time: 2 hours   

Frequency: monthly    

This group focusses on how we build trust with residents. Through communication, developing new involvement opportunities.   

Time: 2 hours   

Frequency: monthly  

The role of a block champion is to complete our feedback form, answering questions about their block. Reporting on the cleaning standards, repairs, litter, internally and externally.   

Time: 5-10 minutes, less time than boiling a kettle  

Frequency: minimum of once a month.   

 

This group will take on specific projects. This role will act in the way a scrutiny panel would, example - review housing services (like repairs, lettings, safety checks) and make recommendations to improve them, holding us to accountable and improve service delivery.

These sessions are one off’s as and when there is a new or revised policy to view. These sessions are usually in person, although participants are more than welcome to read the policy and send comments via email.  

Time: 2 hours   

Frequency: As and when  required.

When we interview for new officers, we have a formal interview panel with Managers. Alongside this we have a resident’s interview panel, who have an informal conversation with the candidates and then provide their thoughts to managers.
