Playing Pitch Strategy (2025)
We are finalising our Playing Pitch Strategy (PPS), is a strategic planning document to assess, protect, and improve outdoor sports pitch provision in the city. It is designed to ensure that communities have access to high-quality playing pitches for sports like football, rugby, cricket, and hockey. The document has been developed by a consultant in partnership with:
- Berks and Bucks Football Association
- Bucks Cricket
- England Cricket Board
- England Hockey
- Rugby Football Union
- Sport England
The document will provide guidance for the local authority to understand and assess the need for playing pitches and improve provision and guide investment, planning, and resource allocation for sports facilities based on need and growth.
Local Football Facilities Plan
The Football Foundation has refreshed the Local Football Facilities Plan (LFFP) in partnership with The FA and Milton Keynes City Council, to highlight priority projects for investment in football infrastructure, based on need over the next ten years, to improve grass pitches, build new 3G pitches, and upgrade changing facilities across the city.
Please note that being cited in the LFFP does not automatically guarantee the success of a project’s future funding application. Each project must still follow the relevant application process and demonstrate delivery of key participation outcomes. The facilities highlighted for potential investment must be of good quality, sustainable and attract sufficient, suitable match-funding.
For more information on the LFFP or a listed project, please contact Berks and Bucks FA.
