Milton Keynes City Council is calling on residents, workplaces, schools, and community groups to take part in Winter Wheelers, a free winter cycling challenge starting 1 December.
Winter Wheelers is designed to encourage people to keep riding through the colder months, building healthy habits that last a lifetime. The challenge is open to everyone—whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just starting out.
How it works:
Simply ride your bike throughout December and January. Every trip counts—whether it’s a quick ride to the shops, your daily commute, or a weekend adventure. Participants can track progress on local, national, and industry leaderboards, with prizes up for grabs.
Cllr Jennifer Wilson-Marklew, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Transport, said:
“Winter Wheelers is very simple with no special gear required and no pressure to ride long distances. Every ride matters. It’s a great way to get outdoors, feel good, and connect with others in your local area.”
Registration is quick and free. You can ride solo or join as part of a workplace, school, or community group.
