The popular ‘Be a Better Biker’ courses are returning to Milton Keynes, offering bikers of all abilities the opportunity to boost their confidence and improve their riding and safety skills.
The initiative aims to reduce motorcycle-related accidents by providing expert-led, practical training.
Three sessions will be held at the Blue Light Hub in Ashland, Milton Keynes, on:
Saturday 25 April
Saturday 20 June
Saturday 25 July
Each session costs just £25 per person and is a standalone session (trainees should choose one, not attend all three).
There are 12 places on each session so each biker can get targeted one to one expert support and help.
All sessions run from 10am to 3pm and include:
- Manoeuvring
- Overtaking
- Cornering techniques
- On road assessment (2 hours)
- Review of on road session
The sessions are part funded by Milton Keynes City Council and are delivered by Milton Keynes Advanced Motorists.
Participants must have a full UK driving licence and bring their own motorbike which must be taxed, insured and road worthy.
Councillor Jennifer Wilson-Marklew, Cabinet Member for Road Safety said, “I’m pleased that the council is able to part fund this initiative again and offer these fantastic courses to local bikers,".
She added, "Our goal is to help riders feel more confident and safer when out on our roads".
