Robots that can deliver medicines, support people with everyday tasks and help monitor health conditions will be showcased in Milton Keynes next week as part of a special event exploring the future of health and social care.
The RoboPASS Social Care Robotics Drop-In Day will take place on 9 September, from 11am to 5pm, at the Smart City Experience Centre, 26-28 Silbury Boulevard, Milton Keynes.
Hosted by Milton Keynes City Council, the event will bring together innovators developing new robotic technologies designed to support people and improve care services with health and social care professionals, technology businesses and others with an interest in the role robotics could play in supporting people in their daily lives. Visitors will have the opportunity to see demonstrations of robots that could help with medicine deliveries, provide physical assistance, monitor wellbeing and take on routine tasks.
The event is part of RoboPASS, an innovative project led by Milton Keynes City Council to help shape how robotics can be used safely and responsibly in public services and everyday environments. Findings from the project will be used by local authorities and organisations across the country to test and deploy robotic technology with confidence. Milton Keynes is at the forefront of this work, building on its reputation as a centre for innovation and smart city technology.
The event aims to spark conversations about how technology can support independence, improve quality of life and help meet growing demand for care services.
