Work has started on the long-awaited regeneration of the former Agora site in Wolverton, with GRAHAM beginning construction.
To mark the occasion, residents joined local representatives, Milton Keynes City Council and GRAHAM on site to mark the start of a scheme that will transform Wolverton’s town centre.
The scheme will reinstate Radcliffe Street between The Square and Church Street, introduce a network of new routes, and deliver 115 new homes, including 29 homes designed specifically for older residents. It will also provide nine new retail units, creating new opportunities for independent businesses and local traders.
Further improvements include new trees, new landscaped green space, a public toilet and a Brompton Bike Hub, all aimed at creating a safer, more attractive and accessible environment for residents and visitors.
The project focuses on high quality, sustainable homes and new spaces for independent retailers, cafés and local businesses, building on Wolverton’s proud railway heritage and reinforcing its role as a lively and distinctive town centre, delivering long-term benefits residents have campaigned for over many years.

This regeneration’s earlier progress was affected by COVID, a changing economic climate and major updates to building safety regulations which required the plans to be reviewed and strengthened. With these challenges now addressed, the project is moving forward.
GRAHAM recently completed the Lakes Estate regeneration project in Bletchley, delivering almost 200 new homes and public realm improvements. Their work was praised by the local community for being carried out professionally and at pace. The appointment follows extensive engagement with Wolverton residents, reflecting the importance of delivering a high‑quality scheme on this landmark site.
