Our Planning Department offers a brilliant one week work experience placement for sixth form and university students who want to explore a career in planning. Let us know you'd like to join us.

What’s included:

• Shadow our planning teams and see how decisions shape the future of Milton Keynes
• Meet our Director and Head of Planning for exclusive insights
• Get involved in real planning work and complete a planning project by the end of the week
• Ask questions, learn, and network with professionals in the field

Things to note:

• We welcome students with a genuine interest in planning. If your focus is on other areas of the council, please check their work experience opportunities instead by calling Customer Services on 01908 691 691.
• This is an office-based programme within a local authority setting, and we expect all participants to behave professionally at all times.
• Any inappropriate behaviour will result in immediate termination of the placement.

Not in Sixth Form or University?

While we can’t offer placements to younger students, we love inspiring future planners. We regularly attend school job fairs, presentations, and assemblies for geography and related subjects.
