Every school or academy has a  board of volunteers who have a vital role to play in helping to secure the best possible outcomes for every child. For maintained schools this will be the governing board and within an academy trust this will either be at a local level within the trust or at trust board level. Collectively as a board, governors and trustees have key strategic responsibilities.
