What pupils with dyslexia ask of their teachers

•    Please don’t shout

•    Don’t overload us, either with too many oral instructions or demanding too much written work

•    Don’t ever ridicule my errors – “Not you again ....”

•    Don’t make me completely rewrite the work

•    Don’t ignore my signs that I don’t understand or am losing concentration

•    Don’t make me work for too long without a break

•    Don’t make the emphasis copying from the board

•    Don’t always expect an immediate answer

•    Don’t make me write out the learning outcome every lesson

•    Don’t ever give up on me

•    Provide me with the tools and opportunities to succeed

•    Don’t keep teaching me phonics if I don’t get it
