Guidance and resources to support newly arrived international pupils

EMA Network offers support, advice and training to schools and settings wishing to develop their provision for newly arrived pupils from overseas. The EMA Network resource centre contains a wide range of texts and artefacts specifically selected to support newly arrived pupils. Guidance materials identify the challenges facing newly arrived international pupils and the schools receiving them.  

Areas of focus include: 

  • Induction,  

  • Assessment, well-being,  

  • Cultural background 

  • Language development.
