About the Green Business Fund
The Green Business Fund supports the transition to a low‑carbon economy in Milton Keynes. The Fund provides revenue grants for projects that help businesses across the city to reduce emissions, improve resource efficiency, or build sustainability‑related skills and capabilities.
The Fund is open to organisations that can deliver support to businesses, rather than improvements to their own operations. Projects must demonstrate clear benefits for a wider group of businesses within the Borough of Milton Keynes administrative area.
What the fund can support
Grants may be used for activities that help Milton Keynes businesses to understand, reduce or manage their environmental and carbon impact. Eligible activities include:
- Professional sustainability services
- Software, digital tools and platforms that help businesses measure or reduce emissions
- Sustainability‑related training, workshops, certifications and specialist courses
- Outreach and engagement activity supporting groups of businesses
- Development of practical guidance, toolkits or shared resources for businesses
Projects must be revenue‑based. Capital works (e.g. solar PV, heat pumps, insulation) are not eligible.
Who can apply
Any legally constituted organisation, including:
- Public bodies (e.g. town and parish councils)
- Private sector organisations (including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies)
- Voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations
