Walton Community Council By-Elections

Casual Vacancies   

Following the resignation of Councillor Jaime Tamagnini-Barbosa on 9 July, a valid request for a by-election for the ward of Browns Wood & Old Farm Park of Walton Community Council has been received.   

Following the resignation of Councillor Tate Chapman-Ballard on 9 July, a valid request for a by-election for the ward of Walnut Tree & Walton Park of Walton Community Council has been received.   

If contested, the by-elections will take place on Thursday 18 September.  

Nominations  

Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Civic Offices, 1 Saxon Gate East, Milton Keynes, MK9 3EJ, between 10am and 4pm on any working day from Wednesday 13 August to Thursday 21 August.

The Notice of Election will be published on Wednesday 13 August. 

Timetable  

Walton Community Council By-Elections Timetable 

You will be required to show photographic identification to vote at this election. Further information on Voter ID can be found here.  

Registration   

The deadline to register to vote in this election is midnight on Tuesday 2 September. If you have already registered to vote, you will be sent a poll card from Wednesday 27 August. If you are unsure if you are registered to vote you can call Milton Keynes City Council on 01908 254706 to check.  

Registering to vote is simple and takes less than 5 minutes. You’ll need your National Insurance number. Apply to register online at: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote  

Postal Voting Dates  

The final deadline to apply for a postal vote is Wednesday 3 August at 5pm. Details of how to apply are available here.  

Please note that we can accept good quality images (photographs or scanned documents) of completed application forms.  

Proxy Voting Dates  

The final deadline to apply to appoint a proxy is Wednesday 10 August at 5pm. The person you appoint as a proxy will need to go to your allocated polling station to vote or apply for a postal vote before the postal vote deadline (see above). Details of how to apply to appoint a proxy are available here.
