Apply to be the Mayor's chosen charity

Every year the Mayor of Milton Keynes has the opportunity to choose one principal charity and up to one supplementary charity. The primary charity will benefit financially from being the chosen charity (through fundraising driven by the charity and Mayor’s Office). Any selected supplementary charity will benefit from having the Mayor act in an ambassadorial capacity, helping to raise awareness.

As the chosen charity, the Mayor will support numerous fundraising opportunities, raising the profile and fundraising opportunities of the event. In addition, the Mayors’ Office can offer a number of opportunities at key Civic events for charities to raise awareness, host raffles, collections etc. Please note that not all Civic events are suitable for fundraising, and some will be awareness raising opportunities only.

If you would like to put your charity forward for consideration, please complete the below form which will be reviewed by the current Deputy Mayor with a view to choosing a charity for their Mayoral year.

Please note that applications are open from 1 June to midnight on 31 December every year and the Deputy will make their decision by the end of March so charities can prepare ahead of Mayor Making which takes place mid-May. Charities may not usually be selected to be the principal charity more than once in a rolling 10 year period.
