Our Legal and Democratic Team offers a one-week work experience placement for years 10, 11, sixth form and university students who want to explore a career in Law or Democracy.

Things to note:
- The Legal and Democratic Services teams have a limited number of placement opportunities and placements will be allocated on a first come first served basis. If you can not be accommodated in the given year, you will be given the option of the following year.
- We welcome students with a genuine interest in law and governance. If your focus is on other areas of the council, please check their work experience opportunities instead by calling Customer Services on 01908 691 691.
- This is an office-based programme within a local authority setting, and we expect all participants to behave professionally at all times.
- Any inappropriate behaviour will result in immediate termination of the placement.

Please note that the Legal work experience waitlist for 2027 is now at full capacity.
If you are specifically interested in a placement within the Legal team, please do not submit a work experience request form, as we are unable to accept any further applications for this area. You are welcome to explore Democratic Services for 2027 if this is a genuine area of interest.
