Relocating a street light on the public highway may only be carried out after an application has been approved. Only our contractors can carry out this work. You must not instruct a third party contractor to carry out this type of work.
Residents and businesses can apply to relocate a street light that is on the adopted highway to help access to a residential driveway or a junction in a new development.
Street lights are placed as part of an overall design to provide the right amount of lighting in an area based on the type of road and the environment so this is not always possible. There is a non-refundable application fee of £214 to assess whether it is possible to relocate the column.
Please note, if the application is approved there will be a further cost to relocate the column which must be fully covered by the applicant.
