Different ways to pay your business rates

Payment of business rate bills is automatically set on a 10-monthly cycle. However, the Government has put in place regulations that allow businesses to require their local authority to enable payments to be made through 12 monthly instalments. If you wish to take up this offer, you should contact the business rates department at nndr@milton-keynes.gov.uk  as soon as possible.

You can pay your business rates using one of the following options:

  • Set up a direct debit using our online direct debit mandate

    • To setup a direct debit you do not need to create an online account. To verify your account details please make sure (when prompted) the name and account number are exactly as presented on your most recent bill.
  • Alternatively visit our payments page, select ‘NNDR- Business Rates’ and enter your account number, the amount you want to pay, followed by your card number details.
  • You can also use internet banking, pay to Milton Keynes Council, sort code 60-14-55, account number 37171542 and quote your National Non-Domestic Rate account number.
  • Call 0300 131 5555 for our 24-hour automated service.

Please be aware Milton Keynes Council does not accept credit cards for payments. If making a BACS payment, please send a remittance to incometeam@milton-keynes.gov.uk.
