The effect of the above proposed Order will be to extend the existing 50mph speed limit restriction along A509 to include the following parts of High Street and Gun Lane in Sherington:

  • High Street, Sherington (both sides) From its junction with A509 for a distance of 1,030 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Gun Lane, Sherington (both sides) From its junction with High Street for a distance of 460 metres in a south-easterly direction.

The proposed 50mph speed limit comes as a result of concerns from residents of Sherington about speeding when entering the village.

Proposed Order

As the Highway Authority for those parts of High Street and Gun Lane in Sherington, Milton Keynes City Council is satisfied that the introduction of the above proposed speed restriction will encourage the convenient and safe movement of vehicular traffic.

The Council will install double yellow lines for the above experimental restrictions, in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations & General Directions 2016

The Council is now carrying out statutory consultation on the proposed Order. Any comments or objections to the above proposal, together with the grounds upon which they are made, must be made in writing and sent to the Council’s Traffic Regulation Order Team at Milton Keynes Council, Civic Offices, 1 Saxon Gate East, Central Milton Keynes MK9 3EJ, or by email to TROteam@milton-keynes.gov.uk quoting reference TRO-359.

The closing date for this consultation is 10 August 2023.
