Consultation
Milton Keynes City Council intends to make the following four named traffic regulation Orders under Sections 1(1) and 2(1) to (3), 4(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
1) Milton Keynes City Council (Various Roads, Central Bletchley) (One-Way Traffic) Order 2026
2) Milton Keynes City Council (Queensway, Bletchley) (Prohibition of Entry) Order 2026
3) Milton Keynes City Council (Brooklands Road, Bletchley) (Prohibition of Driving) Order 2026
4) Milton Keynes City Council (Various Roads, Bletchley) (Prohibition of Waiting and Loading and Various Restricted Parking Places) Order 2026
The general effect of the proposed Order will be:
· to introduce a one-way traffic system on Albert Street between Cawkwell Way and Queensway;
· to introduce a one-way traffic system on Queensway between Albert Street and Princes Way;
· to reverse the one-way traffic system on Bedford Road;
· to introduce a prohibition of driving restriction on Brooklands Road at its junction with Queensway;
· to introducing a 1-hour limited waiting restriction on Queensway, Oxford Road, Bedford Road and Cambridge Street;
· to increase the number of disabled parking spaces on Queensway from five (5) to thirteen (13).
The proposed restrictions come as a result of the regeneration to Queensway as part of the New Towns Deal project for 2026.

Please note that the Schedules in the proposed ‘Prohibition of Waiting and Loading and Various Restricted Parking Places’ Order are incomplete due to the road still under construction. The Schedules will be completed once the new road layout is complete and prior to the making of the Order; and will align with the schematic drawings included in the consultation documents.
The Council is now carrying out statutory consultation on the proposed Orders. Any comments or objections to the above proposal, together with the grounds upon which they are made, must be made in writing and sent to the Council’s Traffic Regulation Order Team at Milton Keynes Council, Civic Offices, 1 Saxon Gate East, Central Milton Keynes MK9 3EJ, or by email to TROteam@milton-keynes.gov.uk quoting reference TRO-456.
