Workplace advice

Our Public Health team have comprehensive advice for workplaces during the Covid-19 pandemic, including information about managing Covid-19 outbreaks.

It is important for businesses that are re-opening to be aware of the risks relating to Legionella in water systems which have not been used during this lockdown period. Legionella is found naturally in the environment and its growth in water systems may lead to a severe respiratory illness called Legionnaires’ disease. All buildings with a water supply which are currently shut could be at risk. More guidance on managing the risks associated with Legionella can be found on the Health and Safety Executive website and the Public Health England website.
