How long will my driver application take to process?
All driver application will be processed within 7 days. This may be longer if an application is received over the weekend.

All driver application will usually be processed within 7 days. This may be longer if an application is received over the weekend.
How long will my change of vehicle application take to process?
We aim to get this processed within 24 hours. This may take longer is submitted on a Friday or over the weekend.
What do I need to do if I have been involved in a road traffic accident?
Email taxienforcement@milton-keynes.gov.uk please ensure that you provide photos of the damage.
What DBS is required for a driver application?
An enhanced DBS is required for this application This must be registered to the update service.
What DBS is required for a vehicle application?
A Basic DBS is required for this application dated within 31 days of applying. If you have a registered enhanced DBS, then this can be accepted. We will also accept a Standard DBS dated within 31 days; this can be registered to the update service.
What DBS is required for an operator application?
A Basic DBS is required for this application dated within 31 days of applying. If you are a current licensed driver with a registered enhanced DBS, then this can be accepted. We will also accept a Standard DBS dated within 31 days; this can be registered to the update service.

When does my licence expire?
All expiry dates are noted on your badge and plates, these are also noted on your paperwork.
When does my medical expire?
A new medical must be provided every three years with your licence renewal.
What is the age limit to licence a vehicle?
Diesel vehicles must be under 12 years of age. Petrol vehicles must be under 13 years of age. Hybrid vehicles must be under 14 years of age. There is no age limit for fully electric (zero emission) vehicles.
When can I apply to renew my badge?
You can apply within 3 months of your licence expiry date. You will need to ensure that you have had a new medical completed and that all your DBS remains registered to the update service.
When can I apply to renew my vehicle?
Your MOT must be dated within 31 days of the expiry date of your licence. Once you have had this completed you can make your renewal application.
Can I apply for a driver badge whilst waiting for documents to come through?
You will need to ensure that you have all required documents before applying. If there are delays to your medical please let us know and we can discuss options with you.
When should I get an MOT?
Your MOT must be dated within 31 days of your expiry date for a renewal or your application date for a new vehicle.
How can I get a Hackney Plate?
New Hackney Carriage vehicle licences are only granted to vehicles that are both wheelchair accessible and fully electric.
I cannot find/access the payment link/task closed
You must ensure that you are using the email address you registered with to find this payment. If you have multiple MyCouncil accounts you must be logged into the one that you used to make your taxi application. If the link in your email continues to not work, log in to your account manually and find the payment task under My Requests.
When I will receive my plate/badge?
Whilst we aim to process your application within 3 days, we have no input on how long Royal Mail will take to deliver these. If you have not received your plates within 14 days of submitting your application, please email taxi@milton-keynes.gov.uk
Can I pick up my licence from the office?
No. All licenses are posted to your home or office address.
