SuperHome Open Days allow visitors to get the inside story on some exceptional home improvement projects. SuperHomes are older homes refurbished by their owners for greater comfort, lower bills and carbon savings of 60% or more. Tours and Q&A sessions allow visitors to ask the owners what worked and receive feedback on challenges and lesson learnt.
About the scheme
SuperHomes has been operating since 2007. Previous SuperHome open days in Milton Keynes include a 1980s detached timber frame house in Bradwell Common. This home was part of the 1982 Milton Keynes Home World exhibition. The owners of the eco home added PV, zoning and a new boiler to the original building fabric which still demonstrates best practice in UK building regulations for energy efficiency.
