An ‘outbreak’ is an incident where two or more persons have the same disease or similar symptoms and are linked in time, place and/or person association.

When to report a Suspected Outbreak

Reporting suspect outbreaks and incidences in a timely manner can prevent or reduce the likelihood of harm being caused by communicable diseases. It also mitigates the impact on health from environmental hazards such as chemicals and radiation.
