How Housing Solutions can help

If you are homeless or worried about losing your home, please contact us as soon as possible. Our Housing Solutions team will look at your circumstances and explain what help may be available. This may include arranging a telephone call or appointment with a Housing Solutions Officer.

We may be able to help by speaking with your family, landlord or others involved in your housing situation. We can also refer you to support services, check whether a notice to leave your home is valid, and give advice about rent arrears, debt and tenancy issues.

Our priority is to help prevent homelessness wherever possible. If staying in your current home is not possible, we will talk through other options with you. This may include looking at affordable private rented accommodation.

Get tailored housing advice 

You can use our online advice tool to get tailored advice about your housing situation. The tool can help you understand: 

• how to deal with problems affecting your housing situation
• what to do if you have been asked to leave your home
• how we may be able to help 

You don’t need to give any personal details about who you are or where you live to use the tool.

Financial support through Lightning Reach

Lightning Reach is a free online service that can help you find and apply for financial support in one place. This may include grants, help with household costs, social tariffs and other support you may be eligible for.

If you are struggling with money worries alongside housing issues, using Lightning Reach may help you identify support that could reduce pressure on your household budget.
