Michael was formerly responsible for children’s and adult services. He joined the council in 2009.

Michael is the council’s statutory Head of Paid Service, leading a diverse team of around 2,500 colleagues. Michael supports the council’s directors across a range of services including finance and resources, adult services, children’s services, public health and customer and community services as well as working with the Deputy Chief Executive on delivering the Council Plan and developing the council’s key strategic relationships.
